How do outlet stores work? How do they keep their prices so low?
Q. I believe originally outlet stores sold merchandise that was damaged or imperfect. At a later time, companies started manufacturing items specifically for their outlets -- items that might be at a slightly lower quality than you'd find in the regular retail stores. I recently found a Sears outlet that had amazing prices on flat-screen TVs. How do they do this? Is there something wrong with the TVs? Why would somebody buy the same TV at the regular store when you can go to the outlet and buy it for much less (unless that's the catch... it's not the same TV)? Basically, what's the catch with outlet stores?

A. There is no catch.. It's buyer beware. Sometimes you can buy things from a retailer for less than at the outlet stores. People have been so fooled into buying STUFF. There are huge markups on so many items. A shirt might cost $1 to manufacture and sells for $60-$100 If you buy in volume or cut the label the price changes. Outlet Stores are just MORE stores and places to shop til u drop. It is a misconception that you will always buy at an outlet store for less. People who make TV's MUST keep selling TV's, they will do whatever they have to. The will add a letter to the model number and call it a new/different model, or change an option. The old ones go to the outlet store and the main store no longer carries that "old" model. It's… [cont.]

What will department stores do with returning clothes?
Q. What will department stores do with returning clothes? I saw so many people returning clothes and other items in department stores. I wonder if the stores will put those clothes back to regular racks? Or the items will become clearance items?
Asked by ask - Tue Oct 16 17:20:15 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. They will put it back on the rack if it's in good condition. If it is damaged or if it is an older item they are no longer selling it will go to "salvage" where they basically write it off and send it back to the warehouse. Some of it may eventually make it to the outlet stores.

What stores carry cajun injector for deep frying a turkey?
Q. I am looking to go to a store and buy cajun injector put in my bird for thankgiving and can not ind it anywhere this year. Anyone know stores(chicago area) that carry it, as i do not have time order online and have it shipped.

A. You will most likely need to go to a kitchen wares specialty store. I bought one long ago but I live in Louisiana and it is almost the law to have Cajun injectors down here lol. If you have never fried a turkey remember not to overfill the pot and when it looks cooked enough you need to cook it twice as long. Good luck on your Turkey - we cook them every year!

A. HI Ella... not knowing where you are located and what breed of rabbit you are interested to acquire makes this difficult for anyone to give you an answer most suitable for your question. However, as a general rule, it's best avoid buying from a pet store as it is well-known that in-breeding is more common in this environment. Consider a licenced and registered rabbit breeder as they breed to improve the breed temperament s well as appearance rather than for profit. Here's a list of rabbit breeders:

What are the best stores to buy a solitaire diamond engagement ring?
Q. I want to get a good deal from a store that I can walk into (so not online). What are the best stores for the money?
Asked by Paul T - Mon Jun 1 23:31:40 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You aren't likely to get a "good deal" from any name brand jewelry store. Jewelry has enormous mark-ups. Your best bet would be to go to someone in the jewelry district (I know there is one in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York) who primarily sells wholesale. If that isn't possible, get educated on the 4 c's of diamond grading - color, cut, clarity and carat. Decide what you want in these areas and then look around. Go to several stores and see what they show you. Just don't fall for a big carat weight with unacceptable color or clarity. It is a lot of work, but you will be spending a lot of money.

What stores at the mall sell shoes that could work for lolita fashion?
Q. So, I'm going somewhere this month soon. I have my gorgeous sweet lolita dresses I'm taking. Though, I'm not allowed to shop on the internet any time this month again, and I don't have any shoes to go with my dresses. Does anyone know of stores at the mall that sell shoes that would work for lolita?

A. :) is it a convention you're going to, by any chance? Anyways, as for shoes at malls/local stores...hrm...thats a bit difficult. I was actually looking for some lolita shoes myself, and I think that you should look through stores like Robert Wayne, Target, Charlotte Russe (they have some cute flats that could work), Payless (and believe me, 0.0 they actually had shoes in the kid's section that looked like carbon copies of AP and Btssb shoes!). I would stay away from Hot Topic, unless you're certain you can coordinate with their chunky/plasticky boots, and especially since you're doing sweet, less reason for Hot Topic. ^_^ I'm sorry that I can't be of much help, but really the best option is ordering online from brands like Double Decker.

Is it okay to leave cats alone in stores overnight?
Q. Sometimes I see cats left in stores alone overnight. Like, the people who own the store live above the store, or they go home and the cat stays in the store for the night. Is that okay? Will the cat be okay?

How do stores power there display models for auto subwoofers?
Q. I am looking to purchase some sort of power supply for an amplifier and subwoofer I have, using my wall outlet, and converting that to the 12 volts needed for the amp. A. Depending on how many and how big the amplifiers are they display, the use a DC power supply but sometimes also car batteries. You won't find power supplies this big in a Radio Shack, however. The ones we used in the store in Los Angeles were over $1000.

When do stores start carrying fall and Halloween decorations?
Q. Fall is my favorite season. When do stores start carrying fall decorations such as wreathes, linens, candles, scents, etc...and when do they start carrying Halloween items such as pumpkins? I went to Target today and didn't see any fall decor.
Asked by Shayna - Sun Aug 26 20:50:49 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The fall merchandise should start rolling in soon. Back-to-school season is winding down in the Target world, and we're starting to get in a lot of our Halloween apparel ( we even have infant costumes out already ). Sweatshirts have started to roll in, so I'm sure autumn/Halloween decor is only a matter of time. Your safest bet is to start checking around after Labor Day ( September 3rd ),because the back to school stuff will be on the way out.

A. Most large malls now have science stores. Toys-R-Us stores have chem kits. Pharmacies, pet stores (aquariums), and hardware stores sell many pure chemicals. Many pool and hottub stores have chemicals.
