Q. My TI-89 is not allowed in my calc 3 course because it has a symbolic manipulator. I have seen it on there but I don't even know what it is or how to use it. What is it?

A. A symbolic manipulator allows equations to be handled in general form, as opposed to numeric form. A symbolic manipulator will, for example, allow you to solve 3x^2 + 2y - 41.76 = x - 1.7y^2 for y without knowing any of the numbers involved. A normal calculator requires that you fill in numbers for x and y before it can do anything with the problem.

Q. I am installing an RPM package for Vmware Update 2 and I am running out of space in /var/updates. I have lots of space elsewhere. Can I use a Symbolic link from /var/updates to (another directory) as a solution? Does it work this way?

It is for this reason among others that they tend to symbolize away things pertaining to Israel. By the way, this is a false doctrine. People very often want to "symbolize away" or "spiritualize away" things so that they don't have to accept a given teaching and therefore are able to continue doing as they please. Man wants to think he is good and wants to be thought of or seen as being good, but he does not want to do good.

A. Blindness Mrs. Dalton was blind. Even if she was trying to help black people by hiring them or sending them to school, she did not see the whole big picture. Although, she may have seen more than those with sight. Ironically, however, Mrs. Dalton saw those she hired as needing an education. Blindness may also represent racism in the United States society. For example, Mrs. Dalton was incapable of seeing Bigger in Mary s room; this caused Bigger to panic and turn to violence. Additionally, the inability of whites to see blacks as people caused them and Bigger to live in fear and hate.
