A teacher who educates an individual student may also be described as a personal tutor. The role of teacher is often formal and ongoing, carried out by way of occupation or profession at a school or other place of formal education. In many countries, a person who wishes to become a teacher at state-funded schools must first obtain professional qualifications or credentials from a university or college. These professional qualifications may include the study of pedagogy, the science of teaching. Teachers may use a lesson plan to facilitate student learning, providing a course of study which covers a standardized curriculum. A teacher's role may vary between cultures. Teachers teach literacy and numeracy, or some of the other school subjects. Other teachers may provide instruction in craftsmanship or vocational training, the Arts, religion or spirituality, civics, community roles, or life skills. In some countries, formal education can take place through home schooling. Informal learning may be assisted by a teacher occupying a transient or ongoing role, such as a parent or sibling or within a family, or by anyone with knowledge or skills in the wider community setting. Religious and spiritual teachers, such as gurus, mullahs, rabbis pastors/youth pastors and lamas may teach religious texts such as the Quran, Torah or Bible. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How much is the basic pay for graduate teachers in your country? Q. In my country there a teachers who graduated with a diploma from teachers' training colleges and those who graduated from university with a bachelor's degree. The latter's pay is higher than the former. There has been a debate on teachers' salary since we think it is too low. Some members of the public do not respect our job mostly because we don't earn that much. I quote a student back in the late 90's.."I don't want to be a teacher because teachers have to do such a tedious job and yet get very little pay" I forgave her.She was only 13. Answered by redbird5 - Mon May 1 10:58:45 2006 Do all teachers start in the same place on the pay-ladder? Q. I know that teachers follow some sort of salary ladder where they are given increases in salary at given stages. But do a gym teacher and math teacher start in the same place? Anyone know what a theatre teacher would make? Does a gym teacher and math teacher start at the same salary? Thank you to my first responder. Depending on where you are located, a teacher can make a good salary. My friend is making 80,000 a year teaching high school. What are you making? In Michigan, all teachers start at the same payscale in reguards to the subject taught (i.e., an english teacher and a science teacher will get the same pay all else being equal). The scale varies based on two things: 1) Years of service (the more years you've been working there, the more you get paid). 2) The education you have (the more education you have the higher your pay). There is usually a bachelors level payscale, a masters level payscale, and either (or sometimes both) a masters +30 (30 credits beyond a masters degree) or a doctorates level payscale. So a teacher starting with a masters degree will get more than a teacher starting with a bachelors degree. An english teacher with a masters and 20 years of teaching will get… [cont.] Answered by Kev - Mon Jan 7 14:24:00 2008 What do teachers do when they get pregnant?
Q. I was wondering if a teacher would have to take a year off to have her baby if she failed to plan it to happen during the summer. Our school system doesn't have maturnity leave for teachers and I was just wondering (I want to have kids and I have trouble getting pregnant) what teachers do. If you sign a contract to teach for a year and don't sign for the next year so you can have a baby, will you still have a job? It would work out if I could take off a year, but then again, will I be able to work at the same place. Asked by samlitcher - Wed May 14 18:36:01 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A.
