What is the purpose of the temporal lobe?
Q. I suffer from temporal lobe epilepsy, hippocampal sclerosic. I was wondering what problems this can cause having my right temporal lobe removed?

A. Function The superior temporal gyrus includes an area (within the Sylvian fissure) where auditory signals from the cochlea (relayed via several subcortical nuclei) first reach the cerebral cortex. This part of the cortex (primary auditory cortex) is involved in hearing. Adjacent areas in the superior, posterior and lateral parts of the temporal lobes are involved in high-level auditory processing. In humans this includes speech, for which the left temporal lobe in particular seems to be specialized. Wernicke's area which spans the region between temporal and parietal lobes plays a key role (in tandem with Broca's area, which is in the frontal lobe). What are the causes of left temporal lobe pain that feels like a burning every time I eat?
Q. I have the pain at other times too, but almost always when I eat something. I have had breast cancer, and angiosarcoma but all tests have come back clean. I'm a bit worried about this pain. I have difficulty remembering names and faces, difficulty with identification of and verbalization about objects, difficulty with concentration, short term memory loss, long term momory loss, and difficulty locating objects in an environment.

A. If these symptoms are not normal for you see your MD ASAP. The symptoms you are describing have something to do with your brain. Almost sounds you are recovering from a stroke to me. See the MD ASAP and dont take "oh your fine" for an answer. These symptoms are not normal and if you feel like something is wrong get a second opinion! You are the best judge of your health not someone who cant feel and experience the symptoms first hand. Go with your Gut!

Tropical Rainforest - located near the equator - mild climate - daily rainfall - poor soil - thick canopy/ very little sunlight - broadleaf trees - creepy animals (birds, bats, small mammals, and insects.) Temporal (Temperate Forest) - located in North America, northeastern Asia, and Europe. - hot climate - moderate rainfall - rich soil - moderate canopy/ lots of sunlight - mostly cone trees - regular animals ( squirrels, rabbits, skunks, birds, deer, mountain lion, bobcat, timber wolf, fox, and black bear.)
