Nountourists
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Tourism is travel for recreational, leisure or business purposes. The World Tourism Organization defines tourists as people who "travel to and stay in places outside their usual environment for more than twenty-four (24) hours and not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited". Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. In 2008, there were over 922 million international tourist arrivals, with a growth of 1.9% as compared to 2007. International tourism receipts grew to US$944 billion (euro 642 billion) in 2008, corresponding to an increase in real terms of 1.8%. As a result of the Late-2000s recession, international travel demand suffered a strong slowdown beginning in June 2008, with growth in international tourism arrivals worldwide falling to 2% during the boreal summer months, and this negative trend intensified as international tourist arrivals fell by 8% during the first four months of 2009. Thereafter this declining trend was exacerbated in some regions due to the outbreak of the influenza AH1N1 virus. Tourism is vital for many countries, such as the U.A.E, Egypt, Greece and Thailand, and many island nations, such as The Bahamas, Fiji, Maldives and the Seychelles, due to the large intake of money for businesses with their goods and services and the opportunity for employment in the service industries associated with tourism. These service industries include transportation services, such as airlines, cruise ships and taxis, hospitality services, such as accommodations, including hotels and resorts, and entertainment venues, such as amusement parks, casinos, shopping malls, various music venues and the theatre. We are doing a project on the moon at my school..and we have to figure out what 3 keys features of the moon would be great for what tourist can do there. The three features i chose are apollo 11, moon phases, and eclipses. I just need to get ideas for what tourists can do there? thanks Asked by eritreanitaliangirl - Tue May 19 20:06:46 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. Okay, okay... let's be imaginative. So... people are living on the Moon... there are big open spaces filled with growing green stuff to supplement the oxygen regenerators, which grow strangely gargantuan flowers. Sunflowers grow 20 ft high on the Moon, with blossoms more than 6ft across. The hotels rent big bumblebee wings for its patrons to strap on and flitter about from flower to flower "pollinating". It'll be the next big thing... trust me. Bigger than swimming with the dolphins! Answered by tick tock - Tue May 19 20:18:31 2009 Does California or Nevada accept or recognize international drivers license for tourists? Q. I will be visiting again US mainland and am used to road travel and local traffic behavior/regulations. While public transport to me is alright, it takes a lot of time and disadvantageous. Will an international drivers license issued in the Philippines allow me to drive around California and Nevada? I learned that DMV does not issue license to tourists anymore or do they issue temporary license (30-45 days)? I need an expert opinion on this. Thanks! Asked by Blancheck - Sun Aug 2 23:56:22 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. You cannot get an International permit if you don't have a valid (Philippine) drivers license., A valid Philippine license is all that is needed to drive in almost any country in the world as a visitor. International permits are not a license and their only use is for translation purposes. They are not needed. If you don't have a Philippine license, you can't drive here Answered by entidtil - Mon Aug 3 08:09:33 2009 Why do American tourists like messing around with the Buckingham Palace guards?
Q. Is it mostly Americans who do it or do all tourists do it? Messing with the secret service is probably worse because they are actually Cops who keep our commander and chief safe. Asked by Music Saves My Soul - Sat Jun 13 12:45:00 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. A lot of tourists do it. It's because the guards are famously not allowed to react or engage with the public, even if they would like to punch them. I grew up here so don't understand the need to do it. They're at work, right? Leave them be. You wouldn't do the same in a cafe or a bank.
