How do you rate those overseas packaged tours operated by Malaysian travel agents?
Q. Have you ever been cheated and in what way? Like optional tours, meals, etc. Which are good travel agents you have travelled with? I never like those China tours with add-ons: optional tours, bell boy tips, additional tips for bus driver, etc. Western countries tours are more professional. No other add ons. What is your experience on this?
Asked by CYM - Fri Nov 13 09:51:54 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. For overseas tours, the Malaysian tour operaters price does not include those extras because it would make the price low and affordable than it really is... China ? For some cheap tours, meals include rat meat, boil dog soup...and the public toilet is only an open drain... For "Western type'' tours. everything [including tips , etc.] are included in the price...

How do tours and deployments to combat zones work out in the Army?
Q. Do you go every other year to Iraq or Afghanistan? What if the war ends? Can you then stay at a base in the United States every year? I'm considering joining through OCS as a 2nd Lt. and was reading that many officers drop out due to repeated tours to combat zones.
Asked by spc. - Sun Apr 27 01:37:25 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It really depends on the unit you get assigned to. Some units don't do Afghanistan rotations (look for that to change in the very, very near future). Some units rotate to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Depending on who you end up with, you could hit a long dwell time (back here in the US) or not. For example, let's say you got put in the 4th Inf Division. They are currently in Iraq now. When they get back they SHOULD (but may not) get 12 months in the states. Then they are back in the mix again. Some units, like the 82nd and 101st Airborne, send Brigade size units to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and the intervals and tour lengths vary. Your likelihood of doing more than one combat tour is HIGH. We're at war...

How many tours of duty did the average soldier do during Vietnam?
Q. I ask because so many soldiers have done multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and it seems like we are headed for a draft if we fight the war in Afghanistan like we did in Iraq.
Asked by Scorpian - Sat Sep 5 14:12:31 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The same. During Vietnam, those on their initial enlistment, whether draftees or enlistees, did one tour in vietnam. Today, Those who enlist in the Army, average doing one deployment during their enlistment, 20% do two deployments. The Marines average two 7 month deployments. In Vietnam, just as today, career soldier and marines ( those who reenlisted ) did multiple tours . Because the Army was alot larger during vietnam, the dwell time between deployments was longer than it is today. A draft isn't gonna help, since people on their first enlistment generally only deploy once now. You would just have more people who would deploy once or more who didn't deploy at all. But your NCO's and Officers, would still have multiple deployments.… [cont.]

Q. I know the Army offers 3-5 year terms but how long is a term in the marines. I am considering joining but I have a lot of education ahead of me and a one year difference is a long time. Also, how long are the tours in Iraq? I've heard of three months to eighteen months.

Q. Ideally there would be tours with a mixed crowd.

A. Try the Hylton Ross Tours, they were highly recommended by our German visitors who were here in Cape Town in September. They went with them on a 3-day/2-night Garden Route Tour from Cape Town (and back) and loved it. The tour included a trip to the Botlierskop Game Farm and Oudtshoorn Ostrich Farm, both of them were a "hit" with our friends. And because they enjoyed the tour so much they also booked a full day tour with them to Cape Point and Table Mountain, which they enjoyed too. The tours are with a modern minibus, very experienced and friendly guide and usually around seven participants (internationally mixed crowd - our friends shared their experiences with Americans, Portuguese, Israeli and Italian tourists). This tour company uses… [cont.]

A. Speak at a moderate pace and enunciate your words. Learn some little known, but fun facts about your subject. If permitted, have a variety of information to speak about and vary your speech. Don't feel like you have to talk the whole entire time you are giving a tour and give people a chance to look around at what you're showing them. For the ladies, especially, learn about the dress of the period. See what you can find out about fashions for that time period. Don't forget men's fashion. The more you know about your subject matter, the better you will be when presenting the information. I used to work at the KY Horse Park giving horse-drawn tours and speeches to go along with the tours. It was great fun!

A. Hi, There was one, but I'm not sure if it's still running. However, there are tons in Dominical, and if you were to take the tour from MA you would have to pay extra becasue the tour actaully begins in Dominical anyway. So there are 2 things you can do. If you have a car, drive to Dominical and park where the tour office is, it's very safe. Two, you can take a cab there. However, I would really recommend booking the tour before hand, you can't just show up. Hope this helps, Marina K. Villatoro

A. I took that trip last year. I'd say that about 75% of our awake time was all together as a tour group. We did have one day in Florence that was completely unscheduled - it was AMAZING! Another thing I have to say: don't count on running. It may be allowed, but... (a) you stay up late and wake up early (between 6-8) (b) you don't know the area, and could easily get lost (c) running just isn't popular in Italian cities... you'd be the only one (d) it isn't smart to go out in a foreign country without at least one other person You will have the time of your life! Bring lots of spending money. Get a card so that you can use ATMs - it is a real lifesaver! The tour company usually offers them, but I got my own debit visa with $200… [cont.]

What factory tours are there in Tokyo and which are the best?
Q. I am a big fan of technology and have heard that in Tokyo that you can go on free factory tours of big technology companies. I would like to know which companies offer these free tours, which are free, which are the best, which are in English. Really, any info on Tokyo Factory Tours would be great - I am going later this month. Thanks
Asked by Mr Dougmando - Thu Oct 2 10:56:44 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Unfortunately, there are no factory tours in Tokyo because the companies in Tokyo operate offices instead of factories. Well, the closest thing to a factory tour that I can think of it the ANA maintenance place. However, if you could travel out of the Tokyo area, there are interesting tours in Sendai, Aichi, and Hiroshima. Sendai has the Nikon factory tour. Aichi has the Toyota factory tour in which you can see Toyota cars being assembled. Similarly, Mazda offers a factory tour in Hiroshima. ...WAIT! If you're a big fan of tech, I can recommend a few places to go to in Tokyo. 1) You can visit the Miraikan, which is a very interesting museum that displays innovative and experimental technologies such as ASIMO and model Maglevs. 2) [cont.]

How do I sent up mobile alerts for my real estate company? How do i send mobile virtual property tours?

Asked by dan f - Mon Feb 11 17:23:27 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I have seen a lot of sites that send out text messages, but for your purpose as a real estate agent I could see how that would deficient. I know of one site that you can create picture messaging slideshows. www.cellyspace.com has an MMS composer that you can create slideshows with video, images, audio and text. They have tools for you to broadcast those messages as mobile alerts to subscribers or you can place a keycode on for sale signs like "Text HOUSE to 33563" and people driving buy can instantly have virtual property tour sent to their mobile phones. You'll be able to gather potential leads while you're not even working and inform multiple clients of new open houses with previews and anything else you can think of.

A. Can't really commend on the fruit tour. However, if you're a nature lover, you will enjoy the 'Byron Bay Tour'. The one that I took included traveling through some Hinderland route followed by a lunch cruise around Tweed Heads and then board the same coach on the other end and go all the way to Byron Bay lighthouse where you might have chances to see dolphins swimming below at the bay. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and had revisited at least 4 times myself whenever I am on the Gold Coast.
