From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Transport or transportation is the movement of people and goods from one location to another. Transport is performed by various modes, such as air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space. The field can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles, and operations. Infrastructure consists of the fixed installations necessary for transport, and may be roads, railways, airways, waterways, canals and pipelines, and terminals such as airports, railway stations, bus stations, warehouses, trucking terminals, refueling depots (including fueling docks and fuel stations), and seaports. Terminals may both be used for interchange of passengers and cargo, and for maintenance. Vehicles traveling on these networks include vehicles of appropriate types such as automobiles, bicycles, buses, trains, trucks, people, helicopters, and aircraft. Operations deal with the way the vehicles are operated, and the procedures set for this purpose including financing, legalities and policies. In the transport industry, operations and ownership of infrastructure can be either public or private, depending on the country and mode. Passenger transport may be public, where operators provide scheduled services, or private. Freight transport has become focused on containerization, although bulk transport is used for large volumes of durable items. Transport plays an important part in economic growth and globalization, but most types cause air pollution and use large amounts of land. While it is heavily subsidized by governments, good planning of transport is essential to make traffic flow, and restrain urban sprawl. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I have a 14 gallon freshwater tank. We are moving on Saturday and the ride is about 30 minutes. Whats the best way to transport the fish and the tank? Asked by Em - Mon Jan 26 10:12:54 2009 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. Never move your tank with water in it - no matter the size it really shortens the life of your tank. And there's nothing worse than moving, going to set up and finding your tank leaks. I've moved my fish a lot and when I do, I use rubbermaid bins. The lid fits tightly so there's no leaking but you can tape it on if you want to be extra careful. You need to fill it with tank water as you're emptying the tank but don't fill it all the way to the top as the fish need air in there. Just fill it up half way or less, so it's a couple of inches over the tops of your fish. To reduce stress I usually toss a fake plant or two in the rubbermaid bin for the fish to hide with. Then you drain your tank. I leave the gravel in the tank and… [cont.] Answered by Amanda B - Mon Jan 26 11:00:12 2009 How do I safely transport eight foot-long goldfish 1300 miles to my new home? Q. I have some rather large goldfish, that I'm pretty attached to but don't know how to safely transport them. I won't be moving for a little while but I want to get as much information as possible before I have to move. Driving it would be about 19 hours with no stops. I meant eight gold fish that are each about a foot long, not one goldfish that is eight feet. That would be a little crazy. Asked by dreamsprite67 - Mon Mar 16 17:14:23 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. here is an article that outlines how to transport your fish. It involves using coolers and garbage bags, and stated the max amt of time the fish can survive in these conditions are 48 hours. Please read this thoroughly, and with such large fish, you will need to use a couple of coolers and will need to transport a large amount of the water. I hope you are using a moving van with a lot of room. I hope this is useful, and good luck to you & your precious cargo in your new home! Q. i have beaten the game and i want to know how to get manaphy and then how to transport it. if there is anymore pokemon that i can transfer could you tell me how to get them and how to transport them i would appreciate it. Asked by Shaun C - Fri Jan 9 15:36:25 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. First, you will need to connect with Wi-Fi on Ranger Net. Then download the mission [ Hurry! You only have till the end of January] and complete it. Don't worry it's not too hard. To transfer the manaphy egg, you will need another ds. (I borrowed a friend, the transfer is pretty fast.) Then on Ranger Net, touch Send A Pokemon. You'll have a list of Pokemon to send. [There's also missions for Riolu and Darkrai.] Touch the one you want to send, and your ds will start searching for a Pokemon Diamond/Pearl ds. On your other ds, you either turn it on to menu and you should be able to get it. If not go to Mystery Gift, Recieve Gift, From Friend, Ds to Ds. ( I think something like that.) When you recieve the egg, just go to a Pokemart and talk… [cont.] Answered by veetrannx33 - Sat Jan 10 22:30:50 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "transport" |
