A. If you are resident or planning to be resident more than 185 days then you have to change your driving licence to a Dutch one. For EU passport holders then this is a simple switch at the town hall (gemeentehuis). For non-EU (including Indian) nationals it is not so simple. An International Driving licence is simply a translation of your normal licence and holds no weight, so you will still have to transfer your licence if you wish to stay in NL and drive If you have a valid driving licence from your home country then you get the opportuntity for a one-time test whereby you will be tested on the highway code and also your driving skills. This is taken in a driving school car and an official examinator will sit in the car with you. … [cont.]
