A vehicle (Latin: vehiculum) is a mechanical means of conveyance, a carriage or transport. Most often they are manufactured (e.g. bicycles, cars, motorcycles, trains, ships, boats, and aircraft), although some other means of transport which are not made by humans also may be called vehicles; examples include icebergs and floating tree trunks.

Vehicles may be propelled or pulled by animals including humans, for instance, a chariot, a stagecoach, a mule-drawn barge, an ox-cart or rickshaw. However, animals on their own, though used as a means of transport, are not called vehicles, but rather beasts of burden or draft animals. This distinction includes humans carrying another human, for example a child or a disabled person. Means of transport without a vehicle or animal would include walking, running, crawling, or swimming.

Vehicles that do not travel on land often are called craft, such as watercraft, sailcraft, aircraft, hovercraft, and spacecraft

Land vehicles are classified broadly by what is used to apply steering and drive forces against the ground: wheeled, tracked, railed, or skied.

What address do you put down in the vehicle registration certificate if you sell the vehicle to tourist?
Q. When you sell a vehicle privately, the seller must enter the purchasers name and address the registration certificate document and then send it away for the new keepers details to be entered to show ownership of the vehicle. My question is,if they are tourists, how do you fill in the details then,as they do not have a permanent address in the UK. I would appreciate what i need to do were they to buy the vehicle.Hope someone has the knowledge about this as its a legal concern.

How can I claim vehicle expenses as part of my itemized deductions?
Q. I had enough in deductions that I was able to itemize. I noticed that using the tax software I have, it asks me about vehicle expenses and commuting to work. My wife and I each put about 20k miles a year on our vehicles, most of which is commuting to work. What exactly can I claim?
Asked by nipsy3 - Thu Jan 31 08:09:42 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You can't claim any of the miles used for personal reasons, or any of the commuting miles. Driving from home to work is not an allowable deduction. If you have 2 jobs, and drive from home to job 1 then from job 1 to job 2, then the miles between jobs are deductible.
